Guernsey Post unveils Christmas Bailiwick stamps depicting snowmen

Guernsey Post’s philatelic bureau announces that it will issue Bailiwick Christmas stamps depicting Christmas snowmen at well-known locations across Guernsey and Alderney (issue date: 29 October 2024).

Created by local artist Caroline Veron, the light-hearted set of Guernsey stamps features a delightful snowman and snow-child who have come to life to enjoy some of the wonderful scenery that Guernsey has to offer.

For the Alderney set, another local artist, Penny Dawes, has created stamps which follow the adventures of a jolly snowman on his travels across the island where he meets one of Alderney’s iconic species, the Blonde Hedgehog and – in a nod to the island’s ancient folklore – mythical creatures too.

Bridget Yabsley, Guernsey Post’s head of philatelic, said: – “These wonderful Christmas stamps are sure to put a smile on people’s faces and we’re delighted to see so many locations across the islands in all their festive glory!

“We will also offer Guernsey and Alderney reduced rate stamps – the 60 pence standard Christmas card rate – which will be available to use between 25 November and 20th December.”

The Christmas stamps are available to order now at www.guernseystamps.com or by calling Philatelic Customer Services on +44 (0) 1481 716486.
