On 10 September 2024, POST Luxembourg issued a new series of stamps including a block.
To commemorate Pope Francis’ visit to Luxembourg on 26 September 2024, POST Philately has issued a stamp block. The last papal visit to Luxembourg was in 1985 (Pope John Paul II).
Furthermore, a special stamp was issued in honour of the 25th anniversary of the death of Dr Marie-Paule Molitor-Peffer, former director and president of ‘Planning familial’ in Luxembourg. She helped to lift taboos on many topics, including contraception and abortion, in Luxembourg in the 60s and 70s.
Founded in 1999, the
Fonds National de la Recherche (FNR), the largest funding institution for public research activities in Luxembourg, celebrates its 25th birthday in 2024. On this occasion, POST Philately issued a special stamp.
To mark the 150th birthday of the Universal Postal Union’s (UPU), Luxembourg, like many other members of the UPU, issued a special stamp. Luxembourg has been a member of the UPU since 1875.
The special stamp issued as part of the Sepac issue, which focuses on tourist attractions, shows the Pfaffenthal district, one of the areas most popular among tourists because of its spectacular views.
This year’s Stamp Day is organised by CEPHILCO Steinsel, a philatelic association that celebrates its 65th anniversary in 2024. The special stamp shows the ‘Musekshaus a Schmatts’ building in Steinsel.
