Luxembourg, officially the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg is a landlocked country situated right in the heart of Western Europe, bordered by Belgium, France, and Germany. Luxembourg has a population of over half a million people in an area of approximately 2,586 square km (999 sq mi).
A representative democracy with a constitutional monarch, it is ruled by a Grand Duke. It is the world’s only remaining sovereign Grand Duchy. The country has a highly developed economy. It’s capital, Luxembourg city, is one of the wealthiest cities in the world for a start but it’s not just business that is thriving. Luxembourg is an extraordinary crossroads where different cultures have met to produce a rich and distinct heritage in its own right. There are beautiful old buildings to explore and striking landscapes to savour, many of these that have been featured on their stamps during many decades.
The stamps of Luxembourg are a reflection of their rich history although many local and international topics are also featured on commemorative issues. Luxembourg stamps have something to offer all types of collectors.
